I was chatting to a friend, the other day , who was adamant that stray/ rescued dogs, do not make good pets....I had to disagree, we as a family have had at least 6 dogs over the years which had been 'stray' dogs, in Spain and the UK. ..... Ok , sometimes there were minor problems with them, but when you consider the conditions and treatment that they had been subjected to, it had to be expected.. Overall I have found all of the dogs to have made great pets and were very loyal and they all really did became 'part of the family'...
Anyone thinking of taking a rescued dog or cat, however does have to give a lot of thought to the fact that they will have a lot of responsibilities to the animal..The cost factor can be considerable, food, vet fees, kenneling etc., so the decision to 'adopt' a pet has to be considered carefully...I always think of the slogan ' A pet is for Life, not just for Xmas', as a good thought, I think that was the correct slogan ?...Anyway you know what I mean.
So, I personally believe that if you do choose to have a rescued pet, that you will find it very rewarding....I'm sure that other forum members will agree, but have any members had any 'bad' experiences with rescued pets?......
I didn't find the right solution from the internet.
